Systems Rationalisation

The days of applying more power and memory, and using additional processors, discs or servers to solve a problem are long gone. This approach usually introduces more complexity to the problem, making the situation more difficult to manage or resolve in the long-term, and of course it can cost more money.

Often the side effects of these resources - electrical power and cooling - can be a major contributor to this cost, with the added risk to recovery in a disaster situation if this is not all taken into consideration at the time of an upgrade.

Priority 1 adopts a consolidation and virtualisation approach when helping clients to identify the right approach to solving business systems performance, reliability and availability problems. We consider the pros and cons of upgrade versus rationalisation taking into consideration the considerable technology advances coming to market and the reduction in cost that these advances bring to bear.

We take a 'top down' look at the business processes and determine the best approach to improve these by either technology upgrade or rationalisation, taking into consideration the factors associated with cost and risk while still providing a high performance and reliable system.
